Systems Administrator

Mission Multiplier is seeking an experienced, engaging, and knowledgeable team member to provide technical support and innovative direction to the NASA MITS II program as the Agency Vulnerability and Remediation (AVAR) Junior Systems Admin.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting a team of individuals to assess the Marshall Space Flight Center’s (MSFC) security posture utilizing a variety of agency tools
  • Effectively communicating vulnerability and patch data to a variety of user levels including system administrators, ISSOs, and the center CISO
  • Assisting system owners in the remediation of findings discovered
  • Addressing security controls based on NIST 800-53 for SSPs managed by the AVAR team
  • Develop roadmaps for high priority security initiatives and lead cross-functional teams to drive initiatives to completion
  • Reviewing current Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scores on all MSFC SSPs and providing instruction on proper system application
  • Reviewing SOC tickets and providing analysis and direction for remediation
  • Communicating MSFC objectives to improve cybersecurity infrastructure with relevant agency personnel

Requirements

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a combination of risk management, information security, system management, and other related IT positions
  • Excellent written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at all levels of the organization as well as third-party executive and government agencies
  • Strong background and experience in RMF, certification and accreditation, IT strategy, and security architecture
  • Strategic skills to drive the company’s vision for cybersecurity while maintaining an execution-oriented mindset to drive results
  • A track record of assessing threat and vulnerability from a business perspective as well as a technical perspective; and the ability to develop and champion affordable, efficient and timely security architectures and solutions that support the growth of the enterprise’s business
  • Knowledge and experience supporting both DoD and government requirements
  • CISSP, CEH, and/or CISM certifications are highly desirable
  • Security+ or ability to obtain in 6-month window
  • Ability to obtain public trust clearance or possession of an active security clearance

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity or related field required, Advanced degree preferred
  • Three additional years of experience in lieu of a college degree will be considered
