NASA’s MSFC (Marshall Space Flight Center) hosted an Honor Award Ceremony in August of 2024! The Mission Multiplier Team was presented with a Group Achievement Award for providing outstanding support to the NSSTC (National Space Science and Technology Center) Operations during the COVID-19 teleworking period, while continually supporting various and ongoing return to site activities. Greg Burks, Tab Black, David Cross, and Bob Dean, from Mission Multiplier, were all recipients of this well-deserved award!
The efforts of this NSSTC team kept the facility functioning throughout the COVID-19 teleworking period by supporting day-to-day operations remotely and on-site. The operations included Information Technology (IT) access, data servicers, building access, and the incorporation of new conference room capabilities for ongoing critical meetings and collaboration among teams. The team went above and beyond to troubleshoot issues and were instrumental in ensuring smooth transitions between off-site and return to work operations.
These honorees were praised for quickly responding to protect data servers when severe weather threats are forecasted and mitigate issues to preserve data associated with NASA Headquarter activities. Throughout the COVID-19 period, the aforementioned Mission Multiplier Team members supported the Science Mission Directorate to meet critical data availability and teleworking requirements and enable the continuity of mission operations during a “high stress” environment. The team also worked to establish the Imaging X-Ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) science data operations center, which was a vital project to ensure the timeliness and safety of the IXPE launch and implementation.
This team, located at the NSSTC and co-located with UAH, continually provides excellent innovation and support for the NASA MSFC. Mission Multiplier CEO, Jamie Miller, honored all four of team employees with a luncheon in September of 2024! Mission Multiplier is very proud and honored to be a part of the NASA MSFC Mission and celebrate our team’s success!
